So, I finally read Wicked. I liked it a lot. It's well worth reading if you're someone who likes to do that sort of thing. I'd like to see the musical, though I've heard it's completely different.

I saw a cow give birth yesterday. That was the first time I'd seen anything give birth. I don't know what exactly to say about it, but I'm glad I was there.

07:17 pm - Muhut.
I just came in from a grocery run. There was a little kid who couldn't have been more than 6 standing in the parking lot. When I got out of my car, he told me that my car was old, and that I needed to wash it. I had to agree with him. Then he told me that I had old discs. I don't know if he was referring to the CDs or the brakes.

02:38 pm - Trouble
Well, now my other rat is dead. He didn't get sick, he just slowed down. I went over to his cage and he ran over like he wanted to come out. So I let him run around in the bedroom, and then he started breathing heavily. I was about to call the vet, but then he stopped breathing entirely. I've never watched something die before. It was a little strange.

R.I.P., you goofball.

11:04 am - China Blocked Youtube.
First Bangladesh and now China? I don't really know what to say about this that won't turn into a big rant, and it's not really a secret that China censors the pants off anything that casts a shadow. So, I guess I'll just distill my rant into one sentence: This is genuine, old-world bullshit and China should be called out on it, but they won't be.

One of my rats died today. His health took a sudden turn for the worst and he just shut down. I'm glad he went quickly, though. Drawn out deaths are an ugly thing. I'm probably going to take him out and bury him somewhere nice. I'll miss the little guy...

09:36 am - Fuck Lynyrd Skynyrd.
I don't even know what to do with this thing anymore. I used to figure that I'd use it to link to songs I post, but considering I've temporarily lost almost all interest in writing electronic music in favor of writing guitar music, that trail's gone cold until I get a microphone. I suppose I could just write run-on sentences.

Anybody else disillusioned by anything? I'm disillusioned by a lot, but this isn't my place to get deep, so I'll just say that I'm disillusioned by the Resident Evil 5 demo. Usually, I'm one of those people who defends the controls, but I'm finding myself fighting with them now. Hey, Capcom, if you're going to have that many zombies and big enemies that take an utterly unreasonable amount of damage to kill, y'all ought to include an auto run feature. I know that's TOTALLY un-RE, but you aren't making the same game anymore. Also, being able to move while shooting would be nice. Could you do that in RE 4? I honestly can't remember.

The new season of Battlestar Galactica started. The big tragedy this time is that all the characters have come down with amnesia and act like blubbering babies all the time. Maybe they're all cylons and dormant programming is surfacing. That programming being "be as melodramatic as possible". Maybe it'll get better. On the other hand, it's a TV show, so who really cares anyway? DOOD WHERE'S MAH EARF?

I'm back in school now because I have this stubborn ambition to get a degree. I don't even know what I want one for. I just want one. It's something I'd like to have before I'm dead. My musical ambitions have shifted in the past few years. Like a lot of people, I wanted to be a fucking rock star if I was going to make music. Now, I'd honestly be happy with just having a stable life with a family, making enough money that I can hang out at home and make music all the time. Whether those ambitions are more realistic remains to be seen.

10:40 am - WELL DONE, COUNTRY! California, we need to talk.
Firstly, "President-elect Barack Obama". We fucking did it. The majority of our country got up and did something positive. Buy today's newspapers and frame them, because this is huge. This is something we should all be genuinely proud to be a part of, unless you voted for McCain. Or Nader.

Apparently prop 8 is passing, though. A simple majority of Californians apparently feel it necessary to put bigotry into our state constitution. The fact that this is even on the ballot anywhere is criminal. We should know better. Singling out a group of free people and taking away their rights is discrimination. That is what it is, and we should stop treating it like it isn't.

HOWEVER. Even though California's prop 8 decision is more than slightly infuriating, Barack Obama will be our next president. Our country took a huge leap forward last night, and that is the most important thing. If this trend continues, equality will follow.
